Level 2 Diploma in Electrical Installations

The successful completion of this course provides the stepping-stone for a full-time career as an electrician. You'll learn the basics of electrical theory and, under the guidance of our highly trained tutors, carry out hands-on practical work in our training workshop. Electrical apprenticeship job requirements and work standards are mirrored in training. You'll learn the principles of electrotechnical installations in buildings and structures and will be expected to complete a variety of assignments. The course also deals with the installation of wire systems and enclosures, health and safety in building services engineering, the technology of electrical installation and the principles of electrical science.

Entry Requirements

Four GCSEs (including English and maths) at grade 2 or equivalent. Level 1/Entry 3 qualification. Demonstration of technical and academic competence to be assessed at interview.

What do I need to bring?

Notepad/paper,stationary set including coloured pencils

Assessment/Exam information

Written assignments and GOLA (on-line) multiple-choice exams. Students also complete practical assessments.

What can I do next?

Your aim should be to progress to a Level 3 Apprenticeship and return to college on a day release basis. This will lead to you becoming a fully qualified electrician.
