If so, this course is for you!

We are delighted to offer the National Extended Diploma in Forensic and Criminal Investigation as part of our curriculum for 19/20.

This full time study programme has been specifically designed and will be delivered by experienced practitioners and academics. It offers theoretical and practical aspects of real-life investigations which are brought to life within a local, national and global context.

Entry Requirements

Five GCSEs at grade 4 including English, Maths and Science or equivalent Level 2 qualification.

You will study a range of subjects including: Principles and Applications of Science I, Science Investigation Skills, Criminal Investigation Procedures in Practice, Forensic Traffic Collision and Investigation and Forensic Photography. This programme of study will also develop your knowledge on the changes in how investigations are conducted by law enforcement agencies.

You will have opportunities to use our specialist laboratory to undertake a range of experiments and gain further experiences by visiting local employers.

We have strong links with a range of employers who are invited in as guest speakers to support your studies.

What can I do next?

Successful completion and achievement of this course can support your progression onto higher education to study a Policing Degree (New 2020 joining pathways for the Police) and the following: BSc (Hons) in Policing and Criminal Investigation, BSc (Hons) in Forensic Science and Criminal Investigation, BSc (Hons) in Forensic Science, BSc (Hons) in Forensic Psychology, BSc (Hons) in Psychology and Criminology, BSc (Hons) in Forensic Psychology and Criminal Investigation, BA (Hons) in Criminology and BA (Hons) in Criminology and Law.
