Level 3 - Apprenticeship in Brickwork

Viktor Apprentice

Viktor chose to come to Swindon College because it’s the only place to offer construction courses which he wanted to do.  As part of the course, Viktor has proved his skills by winning a Guild of Bricklayers competition in 2017, and winning the Senior regional competition in May 2018.

Viktor said,

Throughout my studies here, staff and tutors have been friendly and supportive, questions I have had are answered fully and I can go back to ask again if I don’t understand something.  The college has great facilities both in the classroom and on the wider campus with the enrichment centre and gym.

After completing this apprenticeship, Viktor hopes to take up an electrician apprenticeship, as this is what he had wanted to do initially.  When he came to England 5 years ago, he didn’t have the GCSEs required to get on to that course, but since studying at Swindon College he has achieved both English and maths, and passed the assessment test with a score of 95%.

In the future, Viktor aspires to have his own business where he can employ apprentices.

I really enjoy my apprenticeship. My employer has been so helpful and always encourages me to learn new things. If I have the opportunity in the future, I would love to have my own business so I can employ apprentices too.
