Swindon College is investing in the future by purchasing new equipment for Computing Students’ use in the computer lab. There is a wealth of the most up-to-date, high speed and high calibre kit that has recently been installed, some of it by the students themselves.

Swindon College students support Swindon Young Carers

Four Swindon College students Connor Foster, Callum Stevens, Jamie Davies and Jordan Prince, along with Lauren Mill who is a volunteer in the Wellbeing Centre, were keen to recognise young carers at the college and across Swindon, organising the “Swindon College’s Young Carer Awareness Day”.

Team GB Athlete, Toby Olubi, visits Swindon College

Toby Olubi, who competes for the GB Winter Athletics Team in the bobsled event, came to Swindon College to talk to Sport & Public Services students about his experiences and to put the students through some of the training paces he undertakes to be able to maintain his fitness. These included press ups, using a resistance training band and wall squats. One student, Kerry McKenna, managed an incredible 12 minutes for the wall squat challenge!

Level 2 Diploma in Bricklaying students help Oak & Furrows to build their new Hedgehog Hospital

Swindon College level 2 bricklaying students have come to the rescue of a local wildlife sanctuary, Oak & Furrows who are based in Cricklade. After spotting the call out for help with a new hospital to be installed, staff and students at the college offered to assist by digging out and laying the concrete foundations of the new building, which has now been completed.
