Electrical Courses

Electricians fit, service and fix electrical equipment, circuits, machinery and wiring.

As a Fully trained electrician you'll have the opportunity to work in range of areas, from bringing power to people's homes to big engineering projects. You may also work with renewable technology, like wind turbines, 'smart' heating systems and solar power.

Your work will depend on the type of electrician you are for example: 

  • Installation electrician - install power systems, lighting, fire protection, security and data-network systems in all types of buildings
  • Maintenance electrician - check systems to make sure they're working efficiently and safely
  • Electrotechnical panel builder - make and installing control panels to operate the electrical systems inside buildings

As a Level 2 student you will have the opportunity, if you’re achieving and committed to the course, to transfer over to an Apprenticeship and gain an employer.

As an electrician you will be entering a growth area, with lots of opportunities open to you,

Salaries vary widely according to location, the size of the employing organisation and the nature of its business. 

Starting salaries can range from £18,000 - £23,000 and experienced from £25,000 to £35,000+
