Automotive

As a trained motor mechanic you will repair and service cars and vehicles.

To be qualified in this trade you will need to start on a full time Level 2 Diploma in Light Maintenance & Vehicle Repair Principles course, where you will be carrying out standard servicing, repairs and maintenance. Ideally you will have customer service skills, the ability to accurately follow written and spoken instructions, strong practical and problem-solving skills and the ability to quickly grasp new vehicle technologies.

Alternatively, you could gain a Level 2 Diploma in Light Maintenance & Repair Principles by joining an Apprenticeship at Swindon College, where you will be gaining experience from working for an employer, getting training in college one day a week and being paid!
