Hospitality Courses

Level 2 VTCT Diploma in Professional Cookery (Technical Certificate)

This course is for those with a genuine interest and enthusiasm in preparing and cooking food and want to become to become a Professional Chef. With a current huge skills shortage in this modern and exciting industry, job opportunities are endless in a variety of areas e.g. Hotels, Restaurants, Pubs, Cruise ships, Bars and even the Armed Forces. You will work in our professional kitchens alongside fully qualified Chefs/Lecturers, who will support you whilst you prepare and cook a variety of local and international dishes. Our College Restaurant will also give you the opportunity to develop your customer service skills. During the course you will attend demonstrations by current industry Chefs and Employer presentation, take part in competitions and attend trips which will give you enhanced knowledge of the industry.

Level 2 VTCT Diploma in Professional Food and Beverage Service

This course is designed for those wanting to work in a team and with customers in an environment of e.g. a coffee shop, a restaurant, a Hotel, on a reception desk, in retail, part of a cabin crew, on an airline or even at a tourist attraction. You will be learning in the College Training Restaurant and Barista Coffee Shop covering skills in Health and Safety, Food Hygiene regulations,, customer service, communications, food service, barista operation, serving in a bar, handling payments and working within a busy team environment.

Level 3 VTCT Diploma in Advanced Professional Cookery

Want to gain expert skills in Cookery but still be earning at the same time? This course has been specifically designed to allow you to work part-time while studying. You’ll gain practical skills that could see you working in areas like restaurants, hotels, cruise ships, the armed forces, or at music events. As part of this course, you will be learning cooking techniques for meat, fish, poultry, vegetables, pastry and desserts. You will also be instructed on Health and Safety and Food Hygiene regulations, essential for the industry as well as communication skills, completing tutorials and undertaking supervised cooking tasks in the college kitchens and the Professional Restaurant.

Level 3 VTCT Diploma in Professional Food and Beverage Service Supervision

A course designed to train you in all aspects of supervision within a customer-led industry. You will develop skills, knowledge and understand for leading a team, supervising operations, learning how to set objectives, motivating and supporting team members, developing working relations with colleagues, and improving customer service within a hospitality industry. You will also have the opportunity to plan and manage your own event in the restaurant and learn the art of cocktail making!
