Higher Education Student Centre & LDC

The HE Student Centre offers facilities exclusively for our undergraduates and is based in the Phoenix Building on the first floor near the Learning & Development Centre.

Students have the use of a TV in 301, the chill-out area with comfy sofas and chairs to relax in, a seating area for food and drinks, an internet café-style bar plus an adjoining computer suite with 12 PC workstations and a quiet study area, all of which are air conditioned.

Swindon College has over 400 undergraduates across college and this is a dedicated area they can access freely between 8.30am and 7.30pm during term time. It is a great environment for studying and also socialising with friends.

The Learning & Development Centre is open to all students at the college and is an impressive facility offering more than 32,000 books as well as  electronic resources to support learning in the classroom. Some of these are accessible from home. Your student ID card is also your library card.

Visit the LDC section of the website to view opening hours and more about the Learning & Development Centre.

I would definitely recommend the college to other people because there is more freedom, you still have to do assignments by a deadline but you can work towards them at your own pace. The on-site gym is well equipped and facilities are good.
