Alice Neighbour

Level 3 | Technician Apprentice (BMW)

Alice Neighbour, 16, has been inspired to pursue a career in Engineering after attending the BMW Girls Go Technical course.

Before going on the course, Alice never could have imagined herself working in the Engineering industry, but now she has been motivated to take the first steps towards her career thanks to the Apprenticeship scheme at Swindon College.

She is currently in her first year of her Apprenticeship where she is training to become a Technician at BMW.

Alice is enjoying the process of being an Apprentice, she is excited for the future and is looking forward to gaining new skills and work experience over the duration of the qualification.

“Being selected to be an Apprentice by a company as prestigious as BMW is an honour. It has given me a real confidence boost.

“After attending the Girls Go Technical course I left thinking I really want to join the Engineering industry. The only option I would consider to do this is an Apprenticeship. It’s not as long winded as university and I think I would struggle having to work and go to college at the same time where now I get to combine the two.

“I would recommend that everyone considers doing an Apprenticeship as long as it is right for you, apply and see how you get on!”
