1. What type of Electrical courses do you offer?
 Swindon College offers a City and Guilds Diploma in Electrical Installation

2. What different course levels are available to study?
The Diploma courses is offered at Level 2 and a Fast Track route. There is also progression to Level 3.

3. What grades and qualifications do I need to enrol?
The Level 2 Diploma requires four GCSEs at grade 3 or above including English and Maths. The Fast Track Level 2 requires four GCSEs that includes Maths and English at grade 4. A Level 3 Diploma requires the completion of a Level 2 Diploma and GCSEs at grade 4 or above in English & Maths.

4. How long does the course take to complete?
The Level 2 course is full time study and take two years to complete. There is the option of a Fast Track, subject to GCSE grades, and these will take one year to complete. The Level 3 progression course is also full time study and take two years to complete

5. Can you explain about the kind of work that I will be doing?
You will learn the principles of electrotechnical installations in buildings and structures and will be expected to complete a variety of assignments. The course also deals with the installation of wire systems and enclosures, health and safety in building services engineering, the technology of electrical installation and the principles of electrical science. You will also have timetabled sessions in English, Maths, Work Experience and Enrichment as part of your programme.

6. What kind of careers will be open to me once qualified?
Once completing the course, students may wish to progress onto the Level 3 Diploma course or ideally gain employment as an apprentice, returning to college on a part time day release basis sponsored by their employers to complete a Level 3 Apprenticeship.
