1. What type of Computing courses do you offer?
There’s a range of Computing Science Diplomas available to study at Swindon College, each designed to prepare you entry into the fast-paced world of IT and digital. Check out our website or prospectus for more details.

2. What different course levels are available?
There are Level 2 and 3 BTEC Qualifications.

3. What grades and qualifications do I need to enrol?
The Level 2 Diploma requires four GCSEs at grade 3 or above, including English and Maths. The Level 3 Diploma requires four GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English and Maths.

4. How long does the course take to complete?
The Diplomas are full time study and take two years to complete. The fast-track option for the BTEC Technical Diploma in Digital Technology is one year, dependent on GCSE grades.

5. What kind of work will I be doing?
The courses will cover project management, IT systems, security networking, PC maintenance, software and multi-media developments.
You will be using a wide range of software platforms, and explore the latest knowledge, techniques and strategies to help you become a Computing expert.

6. What about work experience?
We enjoy close links with local business, so there’s plenty of opportunity for students to undertake work placements.

7. What kind of careers will be open to me once qualified?
Once qualified, you could find yourself in a high tech career such as; Computer Systems and Network Technician, Security and Digital Forensics Technician, Computer Analyst, Software Developer or Programmer.
