        Frequently Asked Questions
1. What Media Make-up courses do you offer?
We offer a BTEC Extended Diploma, an HND and a BA Degree.

2. What different course levels are available?
The Diploma is a Level 3, HND is Level 5, and a BA Top-up, a Level 6, are both Higher Education courses.

3. What grades and qualifications do I need to enrol?
The Level 3 requires 4 GCSEs at grade 4/5 or above, a Level 2 qualification in Art & Design or a related subject.  You will have an interview where you will be able to bring along a portfolio of artwork. You will also need a grade 4/5 in GCSE Maths or English, but if this has not been achieved you will s along your portfolio of study these qualifications as part of your programme.
Mature students’ qualifications may vary from this, and will be discussed at interview.

4. How long do the courses take to complete?
Level 3 is a 2 year course, the HND is 2 years and the BA top-up is 1 year.

5. What kind of work will l be doing?
During the 2 year course you will be taught a range of practical skills including creative make-up, wig making, period hairstyling, prosthetic, theatrical make-up, hair for TV and film, fashion make-up, hair techniques and body painting, you will work on live performances and collaborate with other creative professionals.
6. What kind of careers will be open to me once qualified? 
This course is for those who want to work as a make-up artist in the exciting and dynamic world of fashion, film, theatre and television where there will be opportunities for your skills. You could also progress onto Higher Education when you can increase your opportunities for a successful career.
