1. What type of Sport courses are on offer?
There’s a choice of two BTEC Sport Diploma courses available at Swindon College, each designed to prepare you for a career in the Sport and Leisure industry.

2. What different course levels are available to study?
There’s a Level 2 Diploma, and a more advanced Level 3.

3. What grades and qualifications do I need to enrol?
The Level 2 course requires four GCSEs at grade 2 or above, including English and Maths.
The Level 3 course requires four GCSEs including English and Maths at grade 4 or an equivalent Level 2 qualification.

4. How long does the course take to complete?
Both courses are full time study and will take two years to complete.

5. Can you give an example of the kind of work that I will be doing?
The course will see you engaged with a range of different sporting disciplines including Physical Fitness and injuries, Coaching, Personal training, Nutrition, Strength and conditioning, Anatomy and physiology.

6. Do I need to be physically fit to be accepted on this course?
We do not insist on a level of fitness but you must be someone with energy and enthusiasm and we can look to build on your fitness throughout the course. A passion for sport, exercise and physical activity is essential.

7. What kind of careers will be open to me once qualified?
Our past students have gone onto University which allows them to go on and become Personal Trainers etc. There are a number of opportunities for you to consider within a wide-ranging industry, including; coaching, sports science, outdoor adventure, fitness and leisure.

8. Why should I choose Swindon College for Sport?

We have links with local sports clubs so there’s plenty of opportunity for work experience.
