1. What type of Engineering courses do you offer?
There’s a comprehensive range of vocational Diplomas available to study at New College Swindon - each designed to prepare you for a career in Engineering. Check out our website or full time prospectus for more information.

2. What different course levels are available to study?
The Diploma courses we offer are Level 2 or Level 3.

3. What grades and qualifications do I need to enrol?
A Level 2 Diploma requires four GCSEs at grade 3 or above including English, Maths and preferably Science. A Level 3 Diploma requires five GCSEs at grade 4 or above including English, Maths and preferably Science or equivalent.

4. How long does the course take to complete?
These courses are all full time study and take two years to complete. The Level 2 Diploma is available with the option of a Fast Track, subject to GCSE grades, and these will take one year to complete.

5. What kind of work will I be doing?
Our courses will help solving problems using specialist technical and practical engineering skills. The courses are ‘hands on’, and cover a broad range of engineering competencies, such as Electrical, Welding, Mechanical and Pipework engineering.

6. What kind of careers will be open to me once qualified?
The engineering industry encompasses a wide range of sectors, from manufacturing and production technologies, electronic engineering, robotics, mechanical maintenance to welding.
Once qualified, you could progress into a career as a Mechanical Engineer, Systems Engineer or Electro Mechanical Engineer.
